Shauna Pomerantz

Shauna Pomerantz is Associate Professor of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University. Working at the intersections of feminist sociology, critical girlhood studies, and youth cultural studies,

her work focuses on the material-discursive contexts of young peoples’ lives, with a focus on posthuman theorizing. She is author of Girls, Style, and School Identities: Dressing the Part (Palgrave, 2008), and co-author of Girl Power: Girls Reinventing Girlhoods (Peter Lang, 2009) and Smart Girls: Negotiating Academic Success in the Post-Feminist Era (University of California Press, 2017). Shauna’s recent work is a post qualitative inquiry with her daughter, Miriam, on the creative, educational, and transformative potential of the social media app, TikTok. When not working, Shauna enjoys listening to records, studying music trivia, watching Netflix, going to the gym, and hanging out with her kids.
